Been busy learning to crochet & painting of course

So I started learning how to knit and for the life of me I could never figure out how to make a hat which is what I wanted to do-- so than I decieded I'd learn to crochet instead cuz' it looked like you could crochet a hat easier.
So that's what I did learned the stitches and than went online to wonderhowto.com (which I love and is freakin awesome:) and learned the basics of a hat and Sunday I started and it was tons of fun-- I love the fact that everything is pretty general and you can add much custom/creativeness as you want to things. I enjoyed it so much that I made a baby hat and ya I don't have a baby :) I used my old jerry jenson doll to be a model for me-- I've had this doll since I was Brynley's age and now it's hers- kinda fun.

Also I finally painted the Mnt. Dew green basement of ours :) A nice tan aka Millet It is much easier on the eyes and nerves but I can't believe that a small part of me misses the crazy green- crazy. I'll take pictures soon but as for now I gotta get my Payter to school
Made myself a new background-- love this quote-

Starting School & Freezer Paper stencils

So my Payter started Kindergarten- and though he was way excited to go I seriously miss him during the day- I enjoy now having more one on one time with Brynley but my little talker is gone :(.

You can tell just how exited he was to go by how fidgety he was while I was taking his picture--
Anyways since going to school means new school supplies which I love to buy we also got to do some personalization of his supplies--
I refuse to buy the more expensive themed (transformers, diego ect) stuff so I gotta make Payton feel like his are still cool and so we did some logo's and stuff for him.

I love that freezer paper can work as stencils and it seems like the idea is all over the internet so this is nothing new but I'd thought I'd show the way I do it-- and I did forget to take pictures of it all done- and I'm just to lazy today- it turned out great though- the edges are pretty crisp- not vinyl crisp but crisp enough that no one notices.

Step 1-

Design something- you can use word even. Just search for some free fonts online and look for something that will work for you- than cut out some freezer paper so that it fits in you printer and print off your design.

Step 2-

Cut out your design- (This is the part that I always have to ask Dave on, I can't quite visualize it so I don't know what part to keep and what to throw out- I'm just smart like that)
After you get it cut out, heat up your iron for what fabric you'll be sticking it to and make sure it is flat(for the best edges) and than iron it on- make sure you do it right the first time cuz' it really only sticks once.

Step 3-

Give your kids some Paint brushes and paint away- make sure and sponge paint it though and not use strokes, the strokes tend to get under the edges more. Peel off the freezer paper and wallah you have a personalized backpack & lunchbag.

It's great to have Friends Visit us :) Pic overload

So we were so lucky to get to have our friends come and visit us on their way home from a job back east. Payton and Brynley have really missed them and we had fun just relaxing and catching up-- (it's kinda crazy though with the Packers it doesn't matter how long we've not seen each other we still just feel pretty comfortable around them like we've just seen them yesterday.)We love having great friends like them.

The first evening that they we're here we just kinda hung out and talked and chatted-- and let the kids tear their bedrooms apart playing-- which they had tons of fun doing.
Me and Jenni made some hairbows for the little girls-- Jenni didn't know how so I showed her how I did them which I don't think is right but it works for me :) I think the one's Jenni did turned out great and it was cute to see Lizzie like them.
We stayed up pretty late and poor little Taylor crashed in daddy's arms.

Jake and Jenni we're the first people that I've ever taking pictures for, and that was last year so we decided while they we're here that we'd go out and take some more for them. They originally were going to be leaving the next afternoon so we got up early and went to Manitou Springs- It was a lot of fun because it was pretty dead there cuz it was so early-- I didn't have the greatest lighting so we had to stick to the shadowy places but the kids all had fun playing together and I think they turned out pretty well.

After pictures we we're pretty hungry so we went to A&W for some breakfast/lunch-- they had an old jukebox that the kids were pretty excited about and I just love Lizzie's air guitar- she's really rockin it :)

After lunch Dave knew about an old railroad trail that you went through like seven tunnels so we decided we'd go an hike it for fun.

Of course we were all really prepared to do it and wore our best hiking shoes--
All of our feet we're very black and dirty by the time we we're done and since I was wearing shorts and there was a lot of foliage my legs we're itching up a storm-nevertheless it was still fun.

It was very warm cuz' we did it mid afternoon so it was so nice when we hit one of the tunnels that was cool inside. We only ended up hiking two of the tunnels cuz' it was so hot and we had forgotten sunscreen for the kids also.

Poor Lizzie tripped in one of the caves and did a bit of a face plant/ slide-- she was such a big girl about it and only pouted for a little bit.

We had a lot of fun having them visit and can't wait to get to see them again.

Work- Break, Work- Break

So we've been working and working on our house- all the small things that take forever it seems but when are finished make a house a home-- anyways as we're working along the Bastians keep us up on taking the breaks too- which we need cuz' I could so work us to death :)So this Saturday the Bastians came over and helped us work-- which I was glad cuz' I could've cried all day-- my parents were suppose to come and we were finally gonna get the wood floor in- but it didn't happen, and I was sad :( So after we were done working we decided to go to Helen Hunt falls cuz' the Bastians hadn't been there yet.It was a way fun trip- perfect weather- not to many people and we were having fun taking pictures. It was all great until the very end when little Tyler threw a rock over the edge of a little wall down to a stream/very large rock that was making a waterfall, and went over along with the rock. It was a pretty long drop and from the sound of it he landed on his head and than slid down the rock and luckily stopped and didn't go any further down to the huge waterfall. The sound of it and image will forever be engraven in my mind-- I am so glad that he is okay and doesn't seem to have anything wrong except for a bit of a bruise on his head-- all I can say is what a resilient little boy. Other than that :) It was a pretty fun trip and nice break hanging out with friends.
