Just fiddlin and havin fun

My mama will be so proud, I finally made a necklace!
My mom loves making jewelery and has been doing it awhile now, I would always start to make some with her and get the beads picked out but I just could never get into it, and I rarely wear jewelery anyways, so I'd give up. But finally now I've made one! The hardest part was keeping Brynley from stealin all the beads, she loves playing with grandma's beads and I had a hard time keeping her from taking the beads I was trying to work with.

Other than that, life's just been going along, we've just been hangin out as a fam, relaxing and building forts.(Melissa built a fort with our kids when we went to the temple, and Payton is in love with forts now and wants one everyday)

April is flying by.

I looked at the calendar and was in disbelief that it was already the 20th and that we only have a week and a half left of April. I swear it was just conference- And Easter wasn't that long ago was it. O-well I finally loaded the pictures from Easter and was sad to see that I had my ISO at 1600 when I took some pics of Bryn in her dress so they're grainy, O-well I didn't really get any great shots of her in it anyways, even thou I still really like the dress.
We did have lots of fun for Easter(which I guess was a while ago now) we went to the Bastians for a little BBQ and Easter Egg hunt. It was tons of fun for the kids and I'm sorry everyone there that I hoarded all the pico de gallo- I was so craving it. We also had a super small Easter egg hunt on Sunday, It seriously took Payton about 2 min. to find everything that we hid. He was a little bummed when it was over, hopefully next year we'll have a bit more room to hid the eggs.Anyways anyone got any good ideas of what I can do for my hubby, our six year anniversary is coming up this weekend (maybe that's why I'm wishing april would slow down, I don't know what I'm doing yet.) We're gonna try to go to the temple and do some sealings but other than that I'm outta ideas.

Sister Beck

Last night we were honored to have Sister Beck come and talk to our stake Relief Society, and it was amazing. I've been looking forward to her coming, but yesterday I so struggled to get out the door and go, it was snowing and just every excuse possible was coming up.(doesn't that always seem to happen, when we really need to go to something)

Luckily Melissa was there to help motivate me to go, and boy was it worth it. I just love Sister Beck and her ways of saying things, she's clear, she's funny and she truly has the spirit guide her with what to say. The gospel really is so simple and easy to understand, usually it's the cloudy greyness of the world and the influence things of the world has on our hearts that seem to want to make it complicated about what we're suppose to be doing here, and what the plan is, when that stuff is gone we can truly feel it in our hearts. The spirit spoke so much comfort, love, and hope to my soul last night- I'm so glad I went.

But as I was searching for a picture of Sister Beck I came upon a ton of controversy about her conference talk, Mothers who know. I loved that talk and the guide it gave me as to what I can be and become and what to try for. I didn't even really know it was by sister Beck until I read all this negative stuff people said about it, I found it sad that people would feel that way and hope that since then they have had the spirit touch their hearts and maybe more understanding as to what she was saying to them.

Anyways If you ever have a chance to go and hear sister Beck, take it, even if it's snowing, and the kids are acting up, and your hubby's tired, and your tired, and you have so many things you'd like to get done and caught up on. It's well worth it.

My first!

So Dave and I have been working on a webpage for his sister, that is for their business.
Luckily I've lucked out and do not have to work with any of the code- ugh, that stuff turns my brain to mush- But I was in charge of designing it- of course with Dave's input- he wanted more of a sleek modern, glass button kinda look thingy- makes sense right :) But that kinda design I really don't do very much- I've had to learn all about gradients and stuff, it's been fun.
I'm not to excited bout cutting all those gradients up to make it useful for the webpage, but o-well.
So I've kinda designed it to look like the inserts of the fireplaces with the louvers and stuff, but something that you have to look at for awhile to recognize that it is that way.(due note that this is a really low quality screen shot of the page- it won't look grainy when it's actually done) Anyways I'm kinda proud of it- being my first and all. I'm sure years from now I'll laugh at it and think it's amateurish, I look at the first of other stuff that I've done and think that too.

Anyways just a plug for their business if your in the market for fireplaces or mantles or anything like that, you should definitely check them out.
They are honest trustworthy people who sell some great products, and make really, and I mean really, beautiful mantles!

Need a Break.

Urghh- I am so sick of scrapbooking, yet I'm still not done. I've been working on putting together a book from our trip for Dave's parents, which you guessed it involves stinkin more scrapbooking. I like it but I still I need a break so I'm bloggin.

I finished this page yesterday of Payton & Brynley- I have so many pictures of them together doing cute stuff- some of them really make me laugh- others make me sad to see that my kids are growing up so big and that I really don't have a baby anymore. (makes me just a little baby hungry):)
For our vacation we ended up going to Green River Utah- which is pretty much a tiny town in the middle of nowhere,(blink and it's gone) but fairly close to Moab, so the scenery is very similar- but there's not nearly as many tourists as Moab, which is nice. It was a lot of fun, except so much for the freezingness and having to wear my snow clothes everywhere, and the nice facial I got while riding in the rain-(I felt like my skin was being torn off, those rain drops felt like marble size hail.) Other than that it was great and fun being with Dave's parents.

Anywho here's just a few pages I've finished for the book.

PS. Did I tell you I have the sweetest husband... I had this movie on VHS and would watch it all the time when Dave was in school, worked full time and didn't get home till midnight or so, it kinda became my little happy comfort movie. But eventually our VCR gave up the ghost and I've been looking for it on DVD for months now, every time we went to the store I'd look for it. Anyways Dave brought it home for me last night, just out of the blue- I thought it was very sweet and thoughtful of him.

(whispers) I Kinda Miss the Snow

So I'm still here, just scrapbooking my brains out. I've done 71 pages over the last weekend- I can see the end in sight and than I'll be all caught up, and I will never get behind again. Wahoo! Anywho saw this picture from our cabin trip this winter- first it reminded me how much I miss my fun laughing brother, Riley, and also kinda the (whispers)SNOW-

But than I remember how biting freezing cold my hands were taking that picture and my senses come back to me and I don't quite miss the snow so much. Snowboarding wouldn't mind to go this year since I haven't yet, but hey I'm not pregnant and that's the only times I go snowboarding since I've been married, so I guess I can't go.

Alright reason is coming back to me now- I'm done with the snow, Bring on the Spring!

Bryn's Dress

Wanna know what I did pretty much all day today. Sewed, and sewed, and sewed.
I actually left my Sewing machine in storage so I wouldn't be so tempted and so I'd catch up on all of our family's scrapbooking instead. But me and a Ronnie, a friend from the ward talked about making Easter dresses for our little girls and I couldn't resist. So after lots of fun shopping for fabric a few weeks ago we eventually got down to business of course the day before Easter :)
I like it and think it's really cute to see Brynley acting like a dancing princess in it. I'll have to take some pictures of her in it tomorrow.

And I promise I'll blog about our fun vacation soon too- it kinda got thrown to the back burner.

My long lost sister!

It's Levietta, my long lost sister!
I've been trying to catch up on my scrapbooking and ran across this photo of my little brother(-he might kill me for posting it, but I couldn't help myself, I love you Levi-don't be mad at me)

Me and my brother have always had quite the resemblance to each other- throw some longer hair on him and hey it's me! I haven't quite figured out if I look more like a guy or Levi more like a girl :) On his behalf I must say since he's gotten older he has changed a bit- people are no longer mistaking him for me on the phone :)

Anyways I've felt like lately I need a change.
So whatcha think, should I cut and style my hair like that wig?? :)

Actually I'm thinking about dyeing my hair brown, I've actually tried before and I turned out like this- which kinda scared me, It didn't look brown at all to me-. But the older I get the darker my roots seem to get so my ends are light blond and I have dark roots so than I have to Highlight the top of my hair to match my ends- makes me feel like such a fake blondy.

But it's a scary thing- I know earth shattering huh-
If I go brown I want to go brown, not some light brown almost blonde thingy-

So whatcha think
Do blonds really have more fun than Brunettes?

Can you guess where we went over the weekend.

So we went on vacation over the weekend, and I took a ton of pictures-

232 to be exact. I took so many cuz' it was pretty once you got use to the deadness, and I really wanted to practice and learn working on getting the right exposure ect. ect.
I would love to talk all about our fun trip right now, but it is super late and I'm tired and I don't want to wait for pictures to load (-I guess that could be considered laziness- o well :) )

So here's to see if you can try and guess where we went.(too bad I don't have some awesome prize you could win- like a dslr camera, that would be cool, but hey I'm not that cool- I think only pioneer woman is :) ) I'll blog about where we went prolly tomorrow.

So As any mom knows, when the house gets too quite- it's time to go and see
what the kids are up to. This is what I found today- Payton explaining to Brynley about his awesome picture that he was drawing. I thought it was just to sweet to pass up taking a photo of them.

Payton drawing has been just a very recent development, I worried forever because he hated coloring and would give up after a few seconds, and I kept trying to get him to like it but he just wouldn't.

Than the Geddes introduced Line rider to Dave, and Payton loved drawing on that game- (eventually we took it away though cuz' it was on a site that had a ton of pop ups and Payton would click them which is not okay), but since than he's now started to like drawing-
they are always like an adventure course drawings though, of this person is doing this than this happens ect ect.

I love listening to him explain them, it gives me a peek into his imagination, and he has his pen always pointing to what is happening, and he is never done with the picture it seems, he'll explain and than he'll be like hold on and draw some more and than start over.

Brynley on the other hand-
Loves coloring and colors on everything (much to my dismay).
I can't seem to get enough stuff for her that she can and will like to color- she still colors on stuff around the house- the worse she did was got a permanent red marker and colored in our grout lines in our tile- she did have Payton and her cousins help for that one though-
all I can say to that is Thank You Magic Eraser, you a life saver!

I prolly should talk to my mom about how she got me to stop, She still has books that I colored on when I was little. Of course they're cute now. :)
The biggest problem comes in when Brynley just acts so like-
"Oh no I did it again, I'm so sorry mom I just was so caught up in my artistic endeavors I forgot I just need to color on paper."
Cuz' all two year olds talk and think like that right :)

If she wasn't so stinkin cute and have me and her daddy wrapped so tightly around her finger- It would be easier.
I don't want to take the crayons away though cuz' than they don't color as much, and I get really bored having to supervise them every time. I really want my kids to grow up learning how to monitor themselves and not have to feel like just cuz' this person is watching I shouldn't do this- but I still want to. Does that make sense??

Ya other than that, anyone have any suggestions on what they did or what to do??
Brynley sure is a cutie but she has a very healthy mischievous side to her too
