Busy

Ahh, I've been busy and it's not slowing down it seems and the fact that it's getting colder--NO! I'm not ready for fall yet, I don't want to be stuck in the house all day again :(---- If I complain about it, It'll help right. So I finished Erin's announcements, these are the one's she picked. I of course always have my favorites, I really liked these ones but as long as she's happy I'm happy. I've been working on my webpage graphics also which is always fun, just waiting for Dave to finish the working elements of the page and I'll be up and running-that's kinda scary to me though, I'm a scardy cat!-- Also Dave had an Interview yesterday for a job in Idaho Falls that he really would like so that was stressful, And today I have a meeting for Enrichment to discuss Ideas for Super Saturday activities, and I need to bring examples, kinda stressful, I hate going to meetings like this it causes much anxiety and I haven't really been that crafty lately cuz' I've been working on more computer stuff as of lately so I'm not all the way prepared.
One thing that I'm proud of that I've done lately is I've called people--laugh if you want but that's a big accomplishment for me-- I get oh so nervous calling people, even strangers or businesses, or friends sometimes, but I've just made myself do it and didn't worry so much if I sounded like a retard, and I must say it's getting a little easier, nobody's ripped my head off yet for calling, I sometimes feel like a little kid learning how to do all the simple things that most other adults have mastered, oh well I'll get there eventually. But ya busy day, gotta get going. :)

Lagoon -there's only one one one one one Lagoon- (wow there's 11,111 Lagoons, who knew)

So we went to Lagoon yesterday- It was an only adults lagoon trip and it was pretty fun. We went with Jake and Jenni Packer, Luke and Kaytee Jacobson, and Jenni's little brother Drew and his girlfriend. It was a one day trip so it was a lot of driving, but it was way fun! We went on pretty much all the rides and while everyone loved Wicked, I wasn't too impressed, I'm not a big rollercoaster fan, they have like one thrill and than it is just kinda boring to me. I still Love, Love, Love the Samurai though, I love being tossed around like a rag doll, so much fun! Dave really hates the Samurai and it is so much fun to go with him because while everyone else is laughing and having fun he's moaning and groaning the whole time it's so funny to listen to :) The only rides that really get me scared and my heart pumping though is the Rocket RE-Entry, I hate heights and to go up slowly and really see how high you are has me freaked out! and than there's always the delay of when they're gonna drop you- my heart just goes into double time mode- so Fun! And the other one is the Wild Mouse, it's such kinda a small ride but man I hate being up so high and the corners where it feels like your going over the edge and the carts gonna tip off the rails, It doesn't help either that I'm always sitting next to Dave and they only have one restraining bar for the two of us, it's squished tight into him and I have like a foot of moving room above mine, ya I really feel safe :)
But the funnest group ride we went on yesterday was surprisingly Rattlesnake rapids, usually when I've went on that ride it's always been pretty tame and just a little wet, this time we had all eight of us in the raft so it was way loaded down and I got the lucky privilege of sitting in between most of the guys, It was Jake, Me, Dave, and Luke, so the only guy on the other side was Drew and the girls so we were a little lopsided on the heaviness side and I was getting soaked even with just the little rapids we were going over, It was way fun though even with getting wet. All in all a pretty fun day and a nice vacation away from the kids. Payton insists he gets to go next year though, If he grows a few more inches he'll be able to ride most the rides as will Brynley so we might just have to take the kids with us next year. -meh-

Bowling

So on Wednesday we went bowling, (I know way behind) It's actually been a fairly crazy week, lots going on for me at least, Dave's just kickin back enjoying just taking one class :) But I've been trying to work on my web page graphics and editing pics and making sample announcements for them and cleaning the house, working on erin's announcements, going to the family swimming reunion, deciding not to go to Education week,(that was a hard decision to make and it took me along time) trying to follow promptings and yada yada I guess the normal stuff I've just felt busy and slightly stressed. A lot of the time I feel like my Camera when it's trying to focus -vrmm, vrmm,- focusing on the wrong things or I'm to close to focus, Or I'm just jumping around to much that I can't focus. It's pretty sad when Dave says it to me too "Focus Ali, Focus". Anyways ya I was talking about bowling :) 2nd time we've taken our kids and they love it! Brynley always does a little hip dance as she waits for the ball to hit the pins, So So Cute! If I ever get a strike I'll mimic it someday :)

Pictures with Paul & Erin

Tuesday Night we went and took some more pictures with My niece and her fiance Paul, She had given me some great pictures to make announcements with but a lot of them were grainy and it would have shown on the final announcement, so we went out and took some more, hopefully she'll like them and we'll get some good announcements out of them. Just thought I'd share some of my favorites.

Picnic

I have so many memories from when I was young of camping, and biking, skiing, family drives, swimming and on and on. I want my kids to have the same fun memories too so we're trying to do more even though there still young. I love going to the mountains and just driving or having a picnic so that is what we did yesterday afternoon. It was scorching hot but it was still fun and the kids liked getting out of the usual.

Payton's First Talk!

This is Payton's self portrait he took. :)

So on Sunday, Payton gave his first ever talk in primary. I of course was nervous, I don't think I ever gave a talk in primary really, meaning my mom almost always had to do the talking for me cuz' I would just freeze. Payton so outshined me, Some of the kids were actually complaining because he was talking to LOUD into the myke. Payton of course loved it, and wants to do it again soon, he's left me wondering- "where did this alien come from?"

*note- I am very very glad that he isn't shy, what a blessing for him in in his life, my prayers were answered! And since shyness is a very debatable subject even between me and my husband, I say I don't know if your born with it or if it's from experiences all I know is that for me shyness is trying to train my body to react differently than it wants to, Talking to people my body goes into fight, flight, hide mode and I really can't think clearly or be myself it seems.

Nieces Wedding Announcements

So my niece asked me to do her announcements for her (which I was super excited that she asked me!) But I have so hit a wall this week, The creativeness just wasn't coming! I kinda threw together these ones, none of which I'm super excited about- I'll probably try to do some more this week, but geez I can't figure out what's going on exactly. The picture situation has kinda messed with me because alot of her pictures were very grainy and most all of them are horizontally shot so it really limits my options on things, but it shouldn't make it THIS bad. Anyways I was kinda hoping you guys could tell me what ones you like or certain things you like about these ones, maybe that'll help send me in the right direction again. Thanks so much

Love

I never had a sibling close enough to me in age to play with, so when I see my kids loving each other and playing together I think it's just amazing. Sure they fight and be bullies to each other but they really do love each other and take care of one another. Payton is always giving Brynley loves and cuddling with her, I wonder how Brynley's gonna take it when Payton goes to school soon.... I'm betting she'll enjoy the time away as will he, sometimes they just need a break from each other and than they do cute stuff like this.

The dreaded Crayon!

CAUTION: Fairly Crude!

So for months (and I mean Months, close to six!) We have had the dreaded Crayon stuck in the kids/guest toilet. It has been horrible! I can't tell you how many floating logs I've found in the toilet,(plunging other people's poo is just sick!) We would tell people to use our master bath but it was just awkward for everyone. While fixing the toilet was high on my priority list it kept falling low on Dave's -He thought passing his classes was more important, the nerve of that man :) We had tried the methods, Plunging, Snaking it, still nothing. So we were planning on taking it apart, but Dave fed up with it did the ewww dreaded Hand Method, Still nothing but a few seconds later the Crayon popped up in the bottom of the toilet. I was singing Hallelujah while gagging at the same moment wanting Dave to wash his hands with Bleach. But yay yay yay! Our toilet is in great working order again! Everyone is invited to come on over and use our toilet! :)

Breaking Dawn

All I can say really is WOW! I wouldn't want to spoil it for anybody though so I won't say more. Dave (being the oh so sweet husband) Went and got the book for me at midnight. I didn't start till 1:30 and didn't finish it till 11:30 this morning (cuz' I'm crazy and that's the way I read books, no putting them down I have to finish once I start) It was a whole 745 pages long, some parts were driving me crazy I wanted to yell OK I get it, other parts I was intensely engaged, and even at the end I can see how she'll carry the series on but in other peoples narrative. Awww but it was good, I am now feeling the out of body tired headache feeling and may just go catch a couple of zzz's (There's nothing quite as fun as staying up all night and watching the sun rise while reading a good book- but maybe that's just me :) )

Pandora, I {heart} you

So not much to talk about lately cuz' I've just been living the monotony of sahm life, but my lovely husband did introduce me to Pandora,(he actually did along time ago but I was to stubborn to listen to him than) Anyways Music I love music, It always makes me happy and it is so much more fun to dance while doing chores than do them in silence, (like that's even an option-it's more like the kids screaming in the background) But my kids like music and it actually calms them a little bit. I love pandora so much cuz' it opens the window to so many different kids of music. Right now my favorite radio stations are
Avant Garde Jazz / Free Jazz
Dario Marianelli
of course Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds
Norah Jones
Third Day
& the occasional Good Charlotte
Pandora plays a few of the songs by the radio station band or whatever but mostly they play music similar to what you like. Which bugs some people but I like it cuz' If I wanted to listen just to the artist I'd play the cd, this way I get exposed to a lot more music that is like what I like. Anyways if you want you should check it out at PANDORA.com
