So I've kinda been down lately, just too much to do and not enough to do, no time away from the kids, no husband to talk with because he's too busy and stressed, that time of the month, and yada yada. So I thought I'd post some funnies. Brian Regan always makes me laugh and have a better day. Hope you do too.

Rain, Rain, GO AWAY!
So we have had rain now for a week, (or more, who knows, it feels like forever) and looking at the weather forecast it's going to go on for another week. Usually I enjoy rain, I love the smell of it and it's nice, but the cloudiness and bleakness and the fact that I have stuff I need to do outside is killing me.
So Trudge on we did this weekend, rain or sunshine we were going to mow the lawn and plant some stuff, (I really wanted to rototill my garden so I could plant the tomato plants that are living in my kitchen sink- but who needs a kitchen sink anyways right.)
Out in the pouring rain we worked on Saturday. We planted some little dwarf boxwoods, (they're my favorite) just hopefully they can survive the heavy wind and snow they'll get where we planted them and I planted some flowers in my little planter. Who knows if I planted them right or if they'll grow. It was getting kinda sad that my mother in law would always have to come over and plant some pansies in the thing.
I thought I'd at least try this year, maybe they'll grow outside cuz' heaven knows anything planted inside is up for a death sentence in the Foster home.
But during this lovely yard work I've realized once again that I HATE living in a subdivision.
First off, there is no where to put your grass clippings, it's in the garden or in the garbage which than is so full that you can't actually fit your garbage in it, Also Dirt- we poories here don't have a wheelbarrow so it's actually a lot of work to take stuff to the garden? Where does it go, ahh in the middle of our sidewalk that sounds good Honey.
The other crappy thing about subdivisions is the closeness and the neighbors and their lawns. Geez people don't you have any thing else to do than take care of your lawn, guess not. We have just yonder over the fence and ten feet, lovely Charlie- (retired man who seems to be bored out of his mind and really has nothing else to do than make his lawn look freakin immaculate, and walk around outside all day- yes even in the rain) I like him though even though I think we've said maybe 5 words to each other, He's the quiet, keep to himself type that likes to sit on his deck, that looks in my living room widow, and smoke his cigarette and read his newspaper every morning around 9. Feel like I really know the guy. :)
So Anyhow did I mention Subdivisions suck, and I'm sick of the RAIN.

Second Mom

So, my mom has a best friend that we use to live right across the street from. And I've always have kinda known her as my second mom, If I was ever in trouble that was who I would usually call, and even now she'll come shopping with us and we go to their cabin, and Payton just adores her too. She's cleaned my home and made soup for us when Dave was in the hospital or when I've been sick, I've just really felt like I've got a second mom. Anyways she is the only person that seems not to afraid to ask me to do computer stuff for her, She always says I'm sorry for asking you to do this or whatever but I think it's funny cuz' it's all the stuff I like to do, so it's like she's doing me a favor giving me a fun project to do. Anyways here are just a "few" of the things I've done for her. Just thought I'd share, cuz' I think they're cute.

My calling in the ward is the Activity Day Girls, And I love it. It is such a fun calling and not too much stress. Anyways this last activity we went to the Temple visitors center and watched a movie and than we took some pictures of the girls for the next activity which we'll be making some frames for them. There's four of us leaders and we were all going to be taking pictures of the girls so we could do it really fast. Well Dave has officially adopted my little point and shoot so I took my DSLR instead. As soon as I took the thing out I felt (umm what's a good word for it?) I guess shy and self conscious. The other leaders immediately wanted me to take all the pictures since I had the nicer camera- ahhrghh *heartbeat quickens, breathing becomes shallow, I think I'm going to be sick*- I kept telling them that I was no pro and that I seriously was just learning, but nevertheless I took the pictures. I probably should have just taken them on manual mode since my camera is more than capable of taking good pictures on it's own, but I couldn't quite think clearly (wonder why) so I stayed in aperture priority mode (AV mode) since that is usually what I'm taking pictures in.
Luckily Lightroom is here to save my butt. On some of the pictures I had the ISO set way to high and the aperture set way to low, so I had blown out highlights. On others it looks like I got the ISO right but my aperture was still a little low, If you notice the background was way to blurry. Finally on some I think I got it right, but of course at the end. And the other thing was I didn't take them in RAW format which would have been smart since I could have fixed those blown out highlights, Oh well I guess luckily it wasn't anything big, cuz like I said, I AM NO PRO, I just like to take pictures and am trying to learn how to take better ones. But anyways I thought I'd share with you these cute girls, I seriously think there is nothing more beautiful than the girls that you can just see their spirit shining through, they are so pure and good, I hope they don't lose it, like so many of them do.

Dance!
So on Saturday night I was able to go and attend one of my neices on Dave's side- Dance recitals in pocky.
It was the DSDS studio and this is about the third year that I've been able to attend the recital. It always makes me so sad and missing dance, I still want to do it but I don't know where it fits in my life right now, and there isn't really that many options for "adult" classes. I don't like to go and dance and just have it be like a social, let's learn some dances kinda thing. I want the serious class that you go in and it's like "shut up, use your brain, learn these techniques, & push yourself extremely hard" and than when you get out of there your just sweating and weak with exhaustion but loving dance all the more. Ya I miss dance so much sometimes it aches, and I still can't listen to a song and not choreograph a dance to it.
Anyways I do like going to these recital things, I feel like a judge all the way through it though, I've just had to much training that I can't not see all the mistakes or beautiful, hard things. DSDS is an amazing studio and they go so many places and learn from so many different teachers, through out this recital they had had a guest teacher from Utah and his choreography was amazing and so moving, we even got to see him do a dance- AMAZING!
But the one thing I did have a problem with is their costumes and some of their choreography for the little girls. Everything was immodest, and it ruined some of the dances- here they would have this amazing choreography which was so beautiful in itself and they would have these girls dressed like they were in nighties- It would so ruin it.. And than with their little girls they'd have them doing all these sexual things like shaking their chests or their tushes and even some of the techniques they had these girls doing was to early for their bodies to be doing and it will mess up their development. That was the sad thing.
I would love to run a studio someday that had that amount of technique but I would so want it to be an uplifiting thing instead of a degrading thing that was all about sexuality, or giving these girls the idea that to get that attention they need to be doing something sexual. Anyways all in all I miss Dance. :(

Birthday

So our friends little girl is turning 3 and when I told Payton that Lizzie's birthday was coming up he wanted to get her a present. So I had found earlier these big clothes pin like clips that Payton loved to play with so we painted one- he helped me pick the colors and paper- and I had taken some pictures earlier of the kids on the tramp so I decided I'd just print off one of these so we could put in in the clip. And than I got to have some fun designing a birthday card for her. So here's the card and the pic. I'll post a pic of the actual present tomorrow when I put it together. Anyhow I thought it was fun, and turned out cute.

Tagged -The story of Us-
Well "The Wife" tagged me for this and usually I don't do these but since she was curious how her friends met and had never heard the stories before I thought I do it.

How did you meet:
Well it was kinda a set up of both of our mom's. They worked together at the time, Dave had just left on his mission- he'd been out about 6 months and he said he thought I was Hot, we lived together in the same ward for like six years or so but he never had the courage to come and talk to me, at first he thought I was to young and than he thought I was to popular and probably had a number of boyfriends--ya right---
Anyways since he was on his mission he decided to write me a letter, he got my address through his mom and my mom- the little conspirators-. Just out of the blue one day I got a letter, so I replied to it, what harm in that? Ya we wrote throughout the rest of his mission, first being friends but than becoming much much more, even though we had never really talk to each other; or really seen in my case, we fell in love.
He got home from his mission in January- we went through a rough stage of getting to know each other and he had back surgery at the time so he only officially took me on one date, and I was working 16 hour days so I didn't have much time- but we knew it was meant to be and we were married in April.
Who eats more:
He does, it helps because I am a fickle eater and we would have tons left over if he didn't eat as much.
Who said I love you first:
He did, in a letter, Just at the end of it but it took my breath away- I wasn't quite ready for that yet.
Who is taller:
Dave is 6'1 and I'm a shorty at 5'4, I like it though that way he can pretty much just wrap his arms around me and all I see is him. :)
Who sings better:
I'd have to say Dave does, I like to sing but he sounds great when he sings at church, or to the radio.
Who is Smarter:
I think it depends on the subject. Math, definitely Dave- but some things I know better than he does. It works out well that way
Who does the Laundry:
I do- and I like doing it- Dave doesn't ever get the chance
Who does the dishes:
I do mostly because I like to wash them by hand, when Dave does he just throws them in the dishwasher, and than I have to wait until we have a full load to wash them, I feel it keeps the house cleaner just to have all the dishes done right than.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed:
Dave does, sometimes we switch though when I rearrange the furniture every three months or so.
Who pays the bills:
I do, just because Dave's to busy to worry about it, but he is involved with all the money decisions
Who mows the Lawn:
Dave does, but it kinda looks like this year I might have to take that responsibility on, I just gotta learn how to work the lawn mower and weed whacker and not cut my legs off.
Who cooks dinner:
I do, I'm actually quite proud cuz' I hate cooking but for two weeks now I've consistently cooked dinner makes me feel like (I am woman hear me roar) Dave will on some occasions though of course.
Who drives when you are together:
Dave- but I'm a great backseat driver for him.
Who is more stubborn:
I'd have to say me, Dave has his spells but mostly it's me.
Who kissed who first:
Dave did, the day he got released- He kissed me and I turned around and ran into the house I was so nervous, I knew the guy but really I had just met him, the second kiss was much much better though.
Who proposed:
Dave did eventually, It was a weird situation though because he had wrote about it before and when he got home and we were dating it was almost a mutual understanding like we were already engaged- almost from the first we had a temple date and everything and strangely enough he proposed the day I went to get a wedding dress, we had went down to Utah and originally he wanted to propose to me in front of the Christus (sp) but he was feeling some pressure so we drove up to the Bountiful temple and just walked around it, when we were close to the end of one of the fences,
they have kinda little grouping of stakes that are taller than the rest of the stakes along the fence, anyways he stopped three of these little stake things down and than proposed to me about always having three in our marriage (H.F. and Us) and said he'd love me and take care of me for eternity. The next day he also took me to the Christus and did it again- It was great. :)
Who is more sensitive:
I'd say we are both about the same.
Who has more siblings:
He does with 6 siblings, I only have 2. It's been nice that he has such a big family.
Who wears the pants:
We both do- I do over some things in life and he does over other ones, I think we compliment each other very well that way.
Anyways I'd like to hear everyone else's stories too, so if you read this your tagged!

Scrapbooking- O- Joy! :(
So Scrapbooking use to be fun, at least I thought I liked it, maybe I never did I can't remember because it's been so long, and I am so behind now. I ditched the paper scrapbooking, but I'm still called on sometimes to make cards for people so I haven't got rid of the stuff (I'm just itching to get rid of it though- I'm a little bit OCD on having things clean and organized, and that stuff just is impossible) Even digital Scrapbooking seems kinda crazy, There is no way that I'll have the time nor enjoyment out of scrapping all my pictures there is just to many. So my solution finally that I came up with is..(drumroll...)
to make each year into a book- duh Ali- There's only 20 pages to fill and I can do that, and the rest I'll just burn onto a DVD slideshow. And that's it, that is all I'm doing, nothing else- If my kids complain when they're older well that sucks, I guess they'll have to live with the disappointment that I was not a perfect mom. Anyways just tonight I finished four pages for the book (note, I'm talking about the memory books you get printed off at like shutterfly of wallyworld) while Dave was once again writing papers for school. I feel bad for him, he is so sleep deprived and he seriously has to write a technical paper ever night sometimes 2, but there really isn't much I can do that I'm not already trying to do for him. :( Anyhow, tell me what you think of my pages.

Payters Flowers
So Payton loves playing outside, even when it's raining and freezing cold. He always says "I like cold wind" Kinda drives me nuts. Anyways Payter came running inside and was so excited to give me a flower,
I told him that it was a weed and that we actually didn't like them but than I had to make up for it and asked him to go and get me a whole bunch so we could make a "pretty" in his words, to display in our home. He kept bringing them in and saying this one's for you, this one's for Daddy, this ones for Brynley, O wait and one for me. It was cute- we'll definitely count them as my flowers for mothers day.

I 'heart' Etsy!

So I can't believe I didn't know about Etsy until just a month ago. Man have I been missing out. I love the site, I can just sit there and look for hours it seems, so many ideas and cool stuff. Makes me want to start painting again and I really really want to do some screen printing. Man I must say it's really hard to not get distracted, with all the fun cool things there are to do in the world. I constantly seem to have to tell myself what is most important (gospel, raising my family, doing the "best" things, not just good things)
It's nice to have some things that I enjoy and learning but I really have to work to keep them in check because I want to do Everything it seems. Anyways these are some things that right now I want, especially the typewriter braclet(-yummy!)

As you can tell I'm bored.
So every night we try to put the kids in bed by like 8 or 9, and than the rest of the evening I have off, but Dave is always busy doing homework and I don't like to just leave him alone so I try to hang out at least in the same room, but I've run out of projects and I'm just bored- so If I have a million posts a day it's cuz' of that. Anyways took a shoe test, kinda fun. I liked the you should live somewhere warm, I definitely would like that. :)

I love this age!

I love the toddler years. They are so far my favorite. Their little toddle walk, and how they don't quite have the coordination yet but they improvise to get it done, and just how cute and fun they are becoming. In my opinion much funner than the newborn age(I about die when I have a newborn, I have to have my sleep, and alone, away time to function right, and with a newborn that's not to feasible, I've always felt like a bad selfish mom cuz' I don't enjoy the newborn stage or breastfeeding, but I trudge my way through it and than I get to enjoy toddler hood.)Some things I love that Brynley does right now are.
*She is a schedule, organizer lover- If anything is out of place she always puts it away, and she likes things to be the same everyday. She actually comes and gets me when it's time for her naps and says "bed?"
*She loves shoes. Throughout the day she is constantly changing her shoes, since she only has four pairs she tries on brothers, mommy's and daddy's too.
*She loves going, Anywhere. She always is coming up to me and saying "go" It doesn't matter where we go she just likes to go.
*She is so expressive. Her brown eyes tell all. If your new she'll glare and hates it when you touch her- she's constantly pulling away from strangers touching her. But after she warms up she is all smiles and laughs, I love just looking at her eyes and seeing all that she's learning.
Thank heavens for toddler years.

Graduation overload
So we have 4 graduations to go to this year, It's not to insane though because three of them are at the same school, but they are all on Dave's side of the family. It's kinda crazy because I'm they're Aunt when really they are so close to my age I feel like I should be a cousin, he even has a few nieces and nephews that are older than me. We're excited for them though, it's fun to see them grow up and go through different stages in life. I wonder if anyone else has this kind of crazy happenings in there family?

So we've been a big fan of Brian Regan for a couple of years, just thought I'd post some of him on my blog. We're constantly quoting him during daily life. Love him, he makes me laugh so hard.

My New re-upholstered Chair
So off we went to find fabric, it only took two weeks- shopping with two kids is impossible, and I didn't know what I wanted, I was originally going to go with something neutral, but finding the right neutral color is so freakin hard. So after seeing Camille's chair, (which is so cute with the red polka dots) I decided I wanted something fun. So here's my chair I painted it one evening and upholstered it the next so it wasn't too hard or time consuming, and I lllliiiiiike it and with the extra fabric I made a pillow for our bed too :)
