For the Beauty of the Earth

Sometimes I've wondered what was the point in having a talent that is more to the artistic side of things. Actually more than wondered, struggled with it. I could look at the other talents people possed and how they actually seemed to help build the kingdom of heaven. For instance my mother in law- amazing with genealogy, Sister in law- amazing mom and home schools 5 kids, The people that can just talk to anybody about anything including the gospel, The musicians who create such beautiful music for church, Than even the people who can cook, they of course are amazing with giving meals to people. I've felt confused because it seems like they almost sometimes discourage artistic stuff, like oh you don't need a display for your lessons and getting rid of doing craft things for enrichment ect. ect. So I've "buried" my talent a little bit and tried to get other talents that maybe will be more proactive in building the kingdom up. But the other day driving home the sunset was making everything so rich in color and just showing every amazing detail of the earth, I was wishing so badly I could just stop and sit and take pictures, it was than that it hit me. Obviously Heavenly Father loves beauty, and art and creating things, if those things were pointless why would he take the time to make them and make them beautiful not just functional. I feel so comforted and happy when I have beautiful things that I've created surround me. It makes it feel more like home and peaceful and even brings the spirit in sometimes. So I may not be able to give my kids huge lists of genealogy or cook them amazing meals, but maybe I'll be able to show them how to create things and see the beauty that heavenly father has given us, maybe it will give them comfort, happiness, love, and remind them a little bit of their real home.
